Biz Mentorship – My Story
Before I found a group of online mentors, I struggled for years. I was juggling a number of jobs trying to make a go of a career as a stunt performer. See my about page for more on this.
Initially, I was only looking for a part time income from the internet in order to subsidise my stunt career. But over the years as I got older, I saw the internet as a means to build a full time income which could surpass that of the stunt business.
After spending several years and jumping through many hoops (no pun intended), I eventually found an online business community. They taught me a different business model and a way to use leverage to generate a dependable income. Without a “biz mentorship” I was lost, jumping from course to course with no real foundation or direction.
But once I found coaches and mentors, I was able to have more confidence in my online direction. I could follow others too and ask questions of people who had already succeeded. I even accessed 1 on 1 affiliate marketing coaching and mentoring sessions.
Biz Mentorship – The Community
I found a video of a guy called Stuart Ross on Facebook one day and decided that I needed to purchase his course. I was sceptical of course but knew if I did nothing I’d be stuck juggling HGV driving jobs, office jobs and the occasional stunt job.
After personally meeting Stuart Ross and Jay Kubassek in 2014, my confidence in them grew. I hadn’t realised how massively sceptical I had become. So I persevered and joined a number of online training groups through The SFM.
With seminars, webinars and, (pre-pandemic) actual meet-ups, I was able to learn from mentors who had already built massive online businesses. This is what many of the other courses I took simply didn’t provide.
Modelling Success
It takes time to build an online business and it’s very difficult to do it alone. With the right people to model though it can be a much simpler process. Before I found this online community, I was struggling trying to promote low value affiliate products with free marketing strategies. I could have worked for 10 years and still not got anywhere!
With some physical products affiliate can earn from 3%-11% commissions on their sales. But this business model isn’t a great one, as many affiliates know. It means you have to use free marketing because the business model simply doesn’t allow enough of a margin to use paid advertising.
Using the SFM Digital Business System meant I could other marketing strategies which were faster and more scalable – (paid marketing strategies).
Business Mentorship – Psychology
Without a business mentor it can be easy to drift along alone without accountability. Your thinking can easily limit your business too, and you won’t become aware of the belief and limitations holding you back. With a mentor, and other members of a community, you can be held accountable, and also reach out for help when you need it.
If you’re holding a lot of counter-productive thoughts, such as scepticism and doubt in your mind, they will act as breaks to your progress. Those who succeed online follow mentors who have already succeeded and do what they have done!
