There’s a few obvious benefits of a digital lifestyle business. For starters it can replace your existing income and you can work and live anywhere you choose. But that’s once you start earning from it, which can take some time and investment. You can also choose your working hours and how you want to work. You can pretty much build your business around any given lifestyle.
Yes a digital lifestyle business is awesome; once it’s working and making money. But what does it take to actually build a profitable lifestyle business and can anyone do it?
Digital Lifestyle Business – My Story
I started looking to the internet for a means to making an income back in 2010. For a while I “toyed” around with eBay, buying and selling things for some extra income. It wasn’t until much later that I found a digital lifestyle company who could help me build a real business online.

A digital lifestyle business was what I was looking for ultimately. It just took me a long time to find one which worked for me and was real. I started out after my eBay days by getting involved in affiliate marketing. It seemed to have so much potential to me but I struggled for years before getting regular results. I didn’t have much money when I started out so the expensive courses were off limits. I bought a few of those “how to make money online” guides. You know the ones. They are around $97 a piece and you get to watch a few videos and there’s no support! I promoted one of them successfully too for a while until I got my Adwords account shut down! Over all I bought many online courses like this. Each time I hoped I would break through and make a heap of cash. Mostly I was disappointed but I learned a few skills on the way. I even landed a job as an SEO specialist and content writer.
Digital Lifestyle Business – Overcoming The Obstacles
There’s many obstacles to finding a good digital lifestyle company in the first place. And that’s before you even begin with building your business. I took many courses over the years but eventually found a community of like minded business people who were led by successful online entrepreneurs Stuart Ross and Jay Kubassek.
Stuart and Jay offered a different experience to other courses I had taken. For starters there were people I actually met through their company get togethers. I was massively sceptical before I met the founders and got help in making my first high ticket sales online. These guys weren’t the typical shy “gurus” who hid behind their computers and were nowhere to be seen! This was something different.
After meeting real people and the founders I had much more confidence in what I was doing. It’s hard to reconcile promoting a product as an affiliate marketer if you’re not fully convinced by it yourself. If there’s a splinter in your mind of doubt it can drastically affect your action steps to build your business. Your mindset is something which is either an ally or an obstacle.
Making High Ticket Sales
My first high ticket sale came within about 6 months of starting out. I got help which I now realise is a huge part of having success online. For years I focused on the wrong actions and worked super hard at them. Then I realised that it shouldn’t be so difficult after making a few large value sales. I started believing again in the possibilities of life and of a digital lifestyle business.
I had several set backs but was able to join various online groups for support: with mindset, emotional and technical support.
Breaking My Own Barriers To Success
What I didn’t realise about entrepreneurship is that mindset was such an important aspect of it. I was carrying around victim mindsets and employee mindsets which definitely didn’t help me with an online business. Being very risk averse (and having little money) meant I only focused on free marketing strategies for a long time. I made a few sales using this strategy but the wins were short lived and they were few and far between.
Switching to paid marketing felt like a big step. Many of the people in the community were using paid marketing to promote their business. I was still blogging and looking for free strategies. I realised that this would set my business back years and I took some steps to switch gears.
Benefits Of A Digital Lifestyle Business
There’s many benefits of a lifestyle business; a digital lifestyle business offers something most people will never have: time and financial freedom. Most people don’t have what it takes to actually make a digital lifestyle business a reality. Only something like 3% of those who attempt it actually succeed and become full time entrepreneurs.
There’s risk involved in becoming an entrepreneur and it’s most definitely not for the faint hearted. But if you’re motivated enough there’s the resources and help needed to get started here. I didn’t have a clue what I was doing several years ago. I just persevered a little at a time. That’s how you should do it too. Take small steps over and over until one day you’re sitting on a beach earning money because of all the work you already did!
