To achieve digital marketing success, you need to stick to a marketing strategy until you have mastered it. Whatever strategy you choose, it’s worth sticking with it for the duration. If you jump from platform to platform, and from one strategy to the next, it’s more difficult to understand fully what you’re doing.

I made this mistake in my early days of becoming an affiliate marketer. I jumped from strategy to strategy and didn’t get anywhere fast.

There’s many ways to do digital marketing and which you choose depends on your individual approach. It will also depend on your business, too. A digital marketing mentor can help you learn marketing and overcome mindset issues which hold you back from success.

Paid marketing is one of the best ways to start promoting a business online. With paid marketing, you get the best traffic. You can target keywords which are specific to your business and get traction fast. Google Adwords is one of the best platforms businesses can use to grow.

Initially you’ll start with a small budget which you can cap off at a price which is suitable for you. Don’t start with a big budget before you really know what you’re doing. Google will always take your money, whether you get it right or not! So don’t waste money on a campaign before you’re sure about it.

Most marketers will start with a small budget and slowly build up when they know they are profitable. This makes sense but it’s easy to think you can just throw money at it to make it work. There’s many platforms you can use for digital marketing success. Adwords is just one of them.

Free Marketing

If you’re not ready to use paid marketing, or your business model doesn’t allow it, there’s plenty of free marketing strategies you can use.

One of my favourite free marketing strategies is blogging! But you can also use any of the social media platforms to generate a following. YouTube is another popular free marketing strategies, which also offers a paid option for marketers.

With blogging, or organic traffic from video, you’ll need to create content and get good at SEO – search engine optimisation. This article, for example, is specifically targeted by keywords. Digital Marketing Success – A Free Business Listing

If you have a physical business and want to use free marketing to promote it, one of the first things you should do is get a free business listing.

Google My Business, formally Google Places, offers physical businesses a free listing on their search platform.

Once up and running, this can bring in new customers for years with only a small amount of time needed for setting up. It’s a no-brainer for a physical business if you have one.

Digital Marketing Success – Niche Websites

Another strategy I’ve had some success with is niche website building. With a niche website, you can target a specific keyword with your domain name. This can help you get ranked on the search engines for your chosen keywords; according to the relative competition for your keywords.

I’ve used this successfully to build websites for businesses too. With a keyword targeted domain name built around the businesses main keywords, you can more easily rank your site locally.

As an example, I built my kung fu school around the keywords Bradford and Wing Chun – the style of kung fu I practice. So if you look on Google for Wing Chun in Bradford, you’ll see my site at the top. Of course you can also add content to encourage rankings in other, related keywords which you can find using Google’s keyword planner.

A city and main keyword domain name has worked a number of time for clients I’ve built websites for too.
